Year in Review – Personal Post

I was taking a look at the calendar over this past year. A lot has happened.

Travel:

• ATL – 11 trips
• NY – 7 trips
• Sydney – once (3 days in Queenstown, New Zealand on the way back)
• Vegas – 3 trips (2 personal, 1 for work)
• I would say there were a 6-8 LA trips sprinkled here and there.
• Spent short periods of time in… Dallas, Detroit.

Total Days on the Road: 135

Was it all worth it? You bet your pants it was. While always taxing and sometimes unbearable, travel, whether for business or pleasure, has simply become a part of my life. I wonder what 2009 will bring given budgets across the board are being trimmed. The one thing that I have learned to appreciate this past year is that there is a time and place to leverage technology to communicate – email, sms, phone or video conference – and there is a time and place for human interaction. I hope we don’t lose the latter.
